- The aim of the ULPGC Debate League is to promote dialogue and public debate among the university’s students, as an exercise in living harmoniously alongside others and in the development of personal skills such as research, analysis, oral expression, listening skills, team work, and timely response.
The ULPGC University Debate League refers to a series of debates held between competing teams, in the style of a sporting league. The debate begins with the two participating teams debating their opposing arguments, one team in favour of the motion and the other against, adhering to certain time and style constraints.
The judging panel will be formed of members of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with external experts on public speaking and the topic being debated present for at least the final phase.
