In the interest of carrying out its roles and responsibilities, the Social Council is able to establish the working commissions it deems necessary.
These commissions give advice, conduct studies and prepare all draft rulings which require approval by the plenary or, where applicable, the standing committee.
Finance committee is in charge of dealing with all those issues that refer to decision-making and control powers.

The objective of the Service Quality Commission is to propose measures to improve the quality and efficiency of university procedures. The commission gathers the necessary information and facilitates studies, surveys or similar initiatives which allow for the performance of the services to be established, especially regarding teaching, research, and management. To this end, the commission can access relevant information from the Canarian Agency for University Quality Assessment and Accreditation. Likewise, this commission is responsible for any other issues concerning quality which they may be tasked with by the plenary.

The Social Interaction Commission is responsible for compiling information and recommendations concerning decisions taken by the Social Council’s plenary with regard to interaction with social and economic stakeholders, and entities active in industry.

The ULPGC Audit Committee is of an informative and advisory nature, holding no executive functions. Its purpose is to provide the ULPGC Internal Monitoring Department with information, advice and suggested actions. Likewise, this committee supervises the development and implementation of the internal monitoring of the university and the work of its auditors.
The ULPGC Social Council’s plenary should receive regular updates regarding the work of this committee.
As established in the ULPGC Audit Committee Regulations, the chairman of the Social Council, the Rector and director of the university, and other spokespeople appointed by the Social Council should sit on this committee. The head of the Internal Monitoring Department or their financial contributor should also form part of this team with the right to address the committee but not to vote.
