The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria’s Social Council, with the cooperation of the University’s Doctoral School, have published a definitive list of the doctoral students who will receive 1,200 euros in financial aid for mobility outside the Canary Islands during their research.
The amount allocated for this financial aid totals 31,200 euros to be divided among the 26 grants awarded, with the aim of fostering mobility during the undertaking of research and doctoral student visits, of at least one month, to other universities and research centres from outside the Canary Islands, in addition to the participation of these ULPGC students in conferences or other types of scientific meetings which contribute to increasing interaction with national and international specialists, with the aim of presenting their doctoral research results.
Applications were submitted to this ULPGC Social Council call for grant applications by a total of 67 students who met its criteria, such as being in at least the second year of their doctorate and also having a minimum average grade. The Social Council has allocated these grants to research work undertaken in all the ULPGC doctoral programmes.
The ULPGC Social Council is funding these grants due to the importance it places on the education of doctoral students, enabling, in this way, their future professional and research paths and improving the internationalisation of the ULPGC. These grants are compatible with others awarded by the State, regional governments, or the ULPGC, except when these are for undertaking doctoral visits outside of the Canary Islands during the same period as that funded by this grant.
