Since 2006 the ULPGC Social Council has presented the ULPGC Student Creativity Awards, in collaboration with the ULPGC Vice-Rectorate for Culture and Sport. These awards are aimed at promoting creativity across different artistic mediums: poetry, storytelling, multimedia production, and theatre.
Thus, the Social Council presented the Saulo Torón Poetry Award until 2014. The Millares Cortes Brothers Short Story Award was established to reward narrative skills, the Blas Cabrera Short Film Award was set up to reward multimedia production and the Claudio de la Torre Theatre Award was founded by the Social Council in order to promote theatrical creativity.
The aforementioned awards are now organised by the ULPGC Vice-Rectorate for Culture.
